Piezo Stage – mechanical device, driven by a piezoelectric actuator, which provides one or more axis of motion.

Nanopositioning – the technology of moving and measuring with nm precision. Piezo stages are used in nanopositioning applications since they can achieve that level of precision.

Motorized stages

Thorlabs’ motorized stages include linear translation stages with up to 300 mm of travel, motorized lab jacks for vertical translation,

rotation mounts and stages, goniometers, and high-resolution multi-axis platforms. The linear translation stages are offered in a number of different travel ranges that include as little travel as 1.5 mm.

nPoint specializes in piezo-driven flexure-guided nanopositioners and motion control tools that can be used in various environments, including ultra-high vacuum and military-spec. The use of capacitive feedback ensures outstanding motion linearity and position accuracy while the nPoint C.300 DSP controller provides flexibility in optimizing the response of the nanopositioner in a variety of applications. nPoint’s piezo stages provide X, Z, XY, XYZ and tip-tilt nanomotion control. Our nanopositioning systems are designed for motion critical applications including: nanolithography, atomic force microscopy (AFM), biophysics, and optical focusing.

Manual and miniature stages

Thorlabs’ manual translation stages are offered in a range of maximum travel, from less than 1/4″ (6 mm) up to 2″ (50 mm) and long travel, large area platforms.

Many of these stages can be ordered in multi-axis configurations, providing XY or XYZ translation. In addition to standard linear translation stages, we offer rotation mounts and goniometers. For fiber coupling applications, please see our Multi-Axis Platforms, which offer finer adjustment than our standard manual translation stages provide.

Gantry Stages

XY Cartesian Gantry Systems

-The CS XY Gantry Series is offered in travel lengths of 500mm, 1000mm, and 1500mm. Custom travel lengths are available, please consult factory.

With speeds up to 1 m/sec the CS XY Gantry Series is prefect for applications requiring high speed positioning of light payloads.

-The ETL XY gantry line is offered in travel lengths of 400mm, 500mm and 600mm. The ETL XY Gantry comes standard with a high torque size 23 stepper motors.

The stepper motor version is available with rotary encoders. End of travel limit switches come standard on the ETL stages.

-The DB Series XY Gantry stage is offered in travel lengths from 400mm to 1000mm.

This XY gantry comes standard with a high torque NEMA 23 stepper motors and a cable management system for the lower stage.

Cable management is available on the upper stage for payloads that have cables running to them. End of travel limit switches come standard on the DBSeries linear stage.

Newmark Systems manufactures a range on XY Cartesian Gantry Stages that range up to 1.5 meters in travel and speeds up to 1.5 m/sec.
